#MakeIYarn
A popular highlife musician from my place by name Joseph
Osayomore once said in his music “Ororo No dey fade” and “Oba No dey go
transfer”.
I beg to disagree please. Kingship is rotational and what is
successful today if not maintained will collapse tomorrow. In 2016, don’t feel
you have it when you no longer possess it. Don’t feel you are still on top when
you are tilting towards the base of the ladder.
A lot of us often feel that in whatever areas of life we may have experienced success, we can’t be overthrown. Don’t be there proclaiming you are king of a business when there are new kids in that business working tirelessly, updating their knowledge and setting new structures to replace the old order. In whatever area of calling you belong to, you have to seek new ways to stay and remain relevant in the game as we approach a new year.
Particularly the young people of this generation, don’t feel
because you are talented and that because you have the stuff, you will blow
automatically. No! It’s way beyond being talented. Jumping on the trending
harsh tag of prominent Music business professional & PR Consultant, Olumati Isaiah, you can
be #TalentedButStuck.
Like a classmate told me back then in school “I get am” and
“I get am before na two different things”. You may think you are there but you
have long left the pathway. Celebrate your success and achievements in the old
year and move on. Don’t live there. You will have a New Year not because we
moved from 2015 to 2016 but because something about you became new.
